For the first time in my life, I enjoy autumn. I look forward to warmer clothes, cooler air, and cosy mindful cups of tea on the couch.
As the vibrant hues of autumn paint the landscape, it serves as a reminder of nature's cyclical dance of letting go. Similarly, in our inner landscapes, autumn teaches us to release so we can transform and grow.
In my Emotional Release Yoga classes at GroundUp (currently, the only studio I teach from), this autumn we focus on the notion of letting go and releasing. I am sure you know the feeling when we know that it’s time to relinquish the grip and stop trying, but we keep up the endless efforts.
Fear and control often intertwine, creating a web that inhibits our ability to thrive. Like the changing leaves, we cling tightly to what we know, fearing the unknown and seeking to control outcomes. Yet, in our quest for control, we often find ourselves trapped in a cycle of overexertion—straining and striving to bend reality to our will.
There is one question we should ask ourselves here:
In what way do we gain a sense of safety and love through endless acts of extra effort, generosity and over-investing?
I know, it’s a big one.
Autumn invites us to release the need to overexert ourselves, recognising that true strength lies in our capacity to release everything we have outgrown.
This year, I let go of trying too hard. I allow opportunities to find me instead. Like with Crystal Sound Bowls - I was offered to get training and teach Sound Bath classes at GroundUp. I have been teaching these sessions for nearly half a year now.
I enjoy the benefits of Crystal Sound bowl vibrations when I lead a class: they help me relax and reset. Each time after my class, I float out happy and smiling, and my sleep is also deeper the following nights. What I love about these sessions that no active doing is involved to reap the benefits of Sound Bath therapy - all we need is to listen with our body rather than ears.
I fell in love with Sound Baths and got myself a “Seven Chakra” crystal bowl set ahead of my birthday. New opportunities did not keep me waiting too long. This April and June, I will get a chance to use my bowls in two extraordinary events:
Sound Bath Immersion at Gaffa Gallery on April 27th at 10am - our visitors and I will enjoy two big worlds I love: sound and art! Click here for more info and to book.
Chakra Harmony: Yoga for Energetic & Emotional Balance at Botannix Yoga & Pilates studio on June 1st at 2pm. Click here for more info and to book.
