With the long weekend approaching soon, would you like to know a fun fact about me and Easter?
Growing up in Kazakhstan, I actually never celebrated this holiday as a child.
I did know it existed as my Russian friends and neighbours would share coloured hard boiled eggs with me :) but that was about it.
When I came to Holland, I discovered the world of Easter - the chocolate eggs and all :) In Dutch Easter is “Pasen”, which is very close to Pesach (Passover) and both are celebrated around the same time.
Being interested in old traditions, I once looked up what Passover was about spiritually. As the Jewish community celebrates walking away from slavery and discovering freedom, Passover is the time for us to reflect on our attachments and things that enslave us.
Slavery for me is anything I do, which does not serve me. It is about interactions that are not rewarding, it is about connections where I am not appreciated.
This Easter I invite you all to think of things that hold you back, things that do not serve you, relationships that do not raise you.
Is there one thing that you could let go off this year? Is there something you could shed this Easter to free up time for something amazing, rewarding and nourishing?
How about exchanging some phone time for a super interesting book in the evening? Or replacing one cup of coffee with a green smoothie or plain glass of water? What about a walk in the nature? Or dealing with a debt or paying off that personal loan?
If you want me to be your accountability buddy, send me a message and tell me what it is you’d like to change to gain more freedom?
Happy Easter!
Namaste,
Madina
